Trimesters has had our courses recognized by the College of Massage Therapists of Ontario for Continuing Education Units since the beginning our company in 1995. As well, we have had our courses recognized by Associations in other provinces as well i.e. the MTAM in Manitoba and Nova Scotia. We have submitted an update to the CMTO regarding our current training as of January 2009 and are awaiting their web update. Our submissions are listed as following: Massage Therapy for Pregnancy20 hour training (10 CEU's) Modality: CAN, CPH, CTH, CTE, CTX, CCA, MLD, Pregnancy Description: The goal of this 3 day, 20 hour course is to give the participants a solid theoretical and practical foundation for providing Massage Therapy for the pregnant client. The R.M.T. as Labour Support Provider/Doula20 hour training (10 CEU's) Modality: CAN, CPH, CTH, CTE, CTX, CCA, MLS, MMR, MSW Description: This primary goal of this course is to prepare the R.M.T. and M.T. Student as a professional labour support provider/doula. This course is a comprehensive training which will underscore the important role of the Massage Therapist and their professional skillset pertaining to the birthing process of their clients. The R.M.T. working with Infants and Children20 hour training (10 CEU's) Modality: CTE, CTX, MIM, MSW Description: Upon completing this 3-day, 20-hour training course, the Massage Therapist/student will have a clear understanding about the realities of infant life from birth through the first year, how massage can be taught to families to augment parenting skills, how massage can be adapted for children and families, with special needs,and the role that the Massage Therapist can play in educating families in the need for healthy and respectful touch with their children. Perinatal Massage Therapy Onsite Hospital Training20 hour training (10 CEU's) Modality: CAN, CPH, CTH, CTE, MIM, MLS, MMR, MSW, CCA, CTX The purpose of this training is to move beyond the basic training of Massage Therapy for Pregnancy and to explore some of the specific issues faced by families who have complications during their pregnancy. This course has been developed from the 13+ years of onsite clinical hospital experience that has been gained by hundreds of students and Massage Therapists who have participated in the Perinatal Massage Therapy Hospital Outreaches by Trimesters: Massage Therapy Education since 1995. Hospital programs have been run at Women’s College Hospital, Sunnybrook & Women’s College Health Sciences Centre & North York General Hospital. Our current liasion is with Women's College Hospital until the move to the new Maternity Unit at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre in 2009. |
